Realistic Leveling Mod - A Nice Mod For Vanilla Baldur's Gate Game
Does the Realistic Leveling Mod do what I was looking for? From what I know from the readme, it does indeed do what I was looking for, but it just doesn't show you that how much you are advancing in the game. I found that while leveling up, I was often confused about whether or not I had enough gold to go to the next level. I didn't even bother going after all of the dragon shouts and spells like I used to, since I had no idea if I could get all the way to the higher levels before spending my money on these things.
So I downloaded a couple of these mods after reading about them on the internet, and they have been working well so far. The biggest perk is the fact that they are completely compatible with both the Vanilla and the Realistic Leveling mods. Which means that not only does the vanilla game play perfectly with them, but the two games will actually mix together when using these two very different leveling paths. Now, there were quite a few times when I wanted to kill something and didn't have the money to do it. That's what made the vanilla game so much more boring than the Realistic Levelingmod, because it leveled up fast enough where it would be easy to do it, but when you don't have enough gold to buy the weapons or items you need to kill the enemies you are supposed to be killing, then it gets pretty boring.
It is also nice that this mod gives you stats that the vanilla game did not have, such as stamina and attack speed. This helped me immensely when I was playing the game and was able to do all sorts of stuff, from doing stuff in Cyrodiil to taking on the other players in Player vs. Environment battles in the Worldmap. Overall I would say the Realistic Levelingmod is well worth the download, because it makes the vanilla game much more fun and allows you to level up a character without having to worry about buying all those crates of weapons or items.
